Open Positions:


VICE PRESIDENT, Business Development
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Salary Range : $75-100,000, plus Equity Opportunity

U.S. Growth Funds is looking for a Vice President in USGF’s Business Development group.  This position is charged with identifying and originating new investment opportunities and serves an integral role on the investment team. Vice Presidents assist on all aspects of a deal, from initial identification and screening to origination and post-closing management and monitoring. As such, the Vice President position is a critical interface between Business Development and several functional areas within the firm including senior management, Legal, Risk Management and Underwriting, and Compliance and Valuation.

Responsibilities include:

Marketing

  • Initiate and leverage an active dialog with owner/executive contacts at target companies identified as attractive acquisition candidates and/or influential referral sources by USGF portfolio company Management Partners; 
  • Build and leverage a network of referral sources in the capital markets including private equity firms, investment banks, commercial bankers, attorneys, accountants, and deal brokers;
  • Attend industry conferences and events to build awareness of USGF’s presence and capabilities;
  • Assist in specific marketing campaigns for the investment team.

Transaction Screening and Structuring

  • Review offering memorandums and other diligence materials to identify attractive investment opportunities worthy of further pursuit by USGF;
  • Facilitate direct follow-up with, and active feedback to acquisition candidates, deal broker, or referral source;
  • Negotiate Confidentiality Agreements with acquisition candidates leading to receipt of basic evaluation material;
  • Formulate a proposed investment structure and Value Creation Hypothesis consistent with the USGF Investment Focus, Strategy, and Values for action by the Investment Committee, and leading to issuance of a formal Indication of Interest proposal;
  • After acceptance of the Indication of Interest proposal, assist in preparation and coordination of the agenda for management meeting with the acquisition candidate and candidate’s advisors to assure that fundamental deal points, questions, and information requests are addressed at the earliest possible stage; and
  • After attending the management meeting with the acquisition candidate, assist in the preparation and development of business models, risk identification, industry research, valuation assessment, and development of investment narrative for formal presentation to the Investment Committee requesting Contingent Investment Approval.

Investment Approval, Origination, and Closing

  • After Contingent Investment Approval by the Investment Committee, serve as a liaison between the acquisition candidate, candidate’s advisors and the USGF investment team leading to issuance and acceptance of a formal Letter of Intent;
  • After acceptance of the Letter of Intent by the acquisition candidate, assist in final due diligence, negotiation of the definitive agreement, coordination of legal counsel and third party diligence providers; 
  • Assist in presentation of the final findings to the Investment Committee addressing all contingencies, and seeking Final Investment Approval; and
  • After Final Investment Approval by the USGF Investment Committee, assist in Execution of the Definitive Agreement, closing, and funding.

Portfolio Management

  • Attend monthly Executive Committee meetings with assigned portfolio companies,
  • Review quarterly performance of an assigned investment portfolio, and
  • Assist in USGF’s quarterly valuation process.

Qualifications:

  • MBA from a leading business school required,
  • 3-5 years of experience in the capital markets with experience in transaction underwriting and deal structuring preferred,
  • Strong interpersonal skills,
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting,
  • Analytical and detail-oriented,
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.,
  • Strong work ethic with high desire to succeed, and
  • Demonstrated commitment to life balance and something greater than self.
This position requires overnight travel 4-6 times per month.

MANAGER, Analysis & Valuation
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Salary Range : $50-75,000, plus Equity

U.S. Growth Funds is looking for a full-time financial manager ready to assume an integral role in the financial monitoring of USGF’s investment portfolio and training of our analyst team. As Manager of the Analysis & Valuation team, this position will recruit and supervise a team of Associates and Analysts.  This team of Associates and Analysts develops all projections and valuation models used in the evaluation of new investment opportunities, as well as, facilitates ongoing analysis and valuation of existing portfolio companies.  This analysis repertoire includes sensitivity analysis, enterprise value calculations, Discounted Cash Flow Models, comparisons to relevant M&A transactions and Public Company Comparables, Industry monitoring, and other reports and analysis.

The Corporate Culture at USGF is comprised of professionals that are highly motivated, team oriented, and success driven. We are in search of a manager that will become an integral, vibrant contributor to the overall success of USGF.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the hiring of a team of interns, analysts, and associates;
  • Train new analysts on USGF’s analysis & valuation process; includes financial analysis, modeling, valuations and internal database training;
  • Supervise analysts developing valuation models for prospective new investment opportunities and certify integrity of all models to the USGF Investment Committee;
  • Develop, Coordinate, and Present quarterly portfolio company analysis and business valuations to the Investment Committee; and
  • Maintain portfolio-wide statistics.

  

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting,
  • 5+ years related experience,
  • Detail Oriented; strong organizational skills,
  • Solid financial analysis skills,
  • Expert proficiency in financial accounting, modeling and basic tax implications for capital markets instruments (preferred stock, convertible debt, warrants and options, SARs,  etc),
  • Strong proficiency in financial accounting, modeling and basic tax implications for legal entities (C-Corps, LLCs, LLPs and LPs),
  • Strong work ethic with high desire to succeed; team-oriented attitude, and
  • Demonstrated commitment to life balance and something greater than self.

INTERN, Analysis & Valuation
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Salary Range : $10-12.50 per hour

U.S. Growth Funds is looking for two summer interns.  One of the interns should have just completed their sophomore undergraduate curriculum and the other their junior year.  Candidates will participate in the evaluation of new investment opportunities and financial monitoring of USGF’s existing investment portfolio. USGF Interns will have the opportunity to develop skills in financial modeling, evaluation of new investment opportunities, as well as assignments for the ongoing analysis of existing portfolio companies.  This analysis repertoire includes manufacturing efficiency studies; sensitivity analysis; enterprise value calculations; Discounted Cash Flow Modeling; researching and comparisons to relevant M&A transactions and Public Company Comparables; Industry monitoring, and other reports and analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Learn USGF’s analysis & valuation process; including financial analysis, modeling,  and valuations for prospective new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies;
  • Participate in the presentation of analysis and valuations of prospective new investment opportunities to the Investment Committee; and
  • Participate in quarterly portfolio company analysis and business valuation presentations to the Investment Committee;

  

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate with distinction in academics and demonstration of leadership in Athletics, Student Government or Extracurricular Activities;
  • Completion of sophomore or junior curriculum at a top tier undergraduate university,
  • At least six hours of financial accounting with minimum grade of “B” in each,
  • Minimum 3.25 overall GPA;
  • Strong social networking skills demonstrated in extracurricular activities (eg fraternity/ sorority leadership, student government, athletics, etc );
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel™ basic modeling, and working knowledge of MS Powerpoint™, and MS Word™;
  • Prior work experience with strong recommendations from former employers and/ or faculty indicating strong work ethic, appreciation for detail, high intellectual curiosity, team-oriented attitude, intellectual integrity and burning desire to succeed; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to life balance and something greater than self.

Successful completion of summer internship(s) will qualify candidate for consideration for a USGF Analyst position upon attaining undergraduate degree.
